I forgot that I had started this entry last week and then got interrupted when Preston woke up from his nap earlier than expected....
Tuesday at our doctors visit, Preston's doctor asked how many words he has now.
Uhhhh....
Matt and I looked at each other.
10? I threw out like I had actually been counting and keeping track.
When she left, we ran down the list:
Mom
Dada
dog
this
more (which he still thinks he needs to sign every time he says.)
ball
bye
no
mine
baby
boom
bonk (which I inadvertently taught him to say every time he bonks into something. He also likes to point out what he bonked in to, and usually will re-create the bonking in slow motion, to show me in case I didn't catch it the first time. And even more amusing is when he recreates the bonk while he's still crying because the initial bonk was so bad.)
yuck
ow
bike
So, 10 was a good ball park (I'm not quite sure bonk and ow count as real words...) Overall I think the vocab is still a little slower than average, but what he lacks in verbage, he makes up in physical prowess. I mean, who needs to use words when you can just completely physically dominate those around you?
