Sadly, our Vanderbilt attire did not provide much purpose this year. Sorry, Uncle Mike.
We did go to music class again at the library a few weekends ago, and Preston had a great time. For one of the songs, the teacher put out a box of glasses for the kids to choose from, and Preston chose these frames, which I found to be particularly entertaining. He picked out a pair of John Lennon-esque shades for me. Sorry, no selfie. Afterwards, we celebrated by going to Burger King (above), which I was surprised to find has really stepped up their game since I was there last. (>5 years?) I had recently read in the newspaper business section that they were closing in on McDonalds, and now I understand why. This provided transient satisfaction amidst the guilt of feeding my child fast food.

More of March--> April.
Luckily Preston is not an SU fan, because March Madness would have been incredibly disappointing. Tis far better to have no expectations, and watch your team succeed, than to have high expectations, and watch your team fail, repeatedly. So thank you, Kentucky, for giving us another surprising run in the NCAA's, and allowing Preston to get some use out of his UK jersey without fear of persecution (SU was already long gone.)
In the spirit of eating organic/local, we put together an action plan for creating our own garden. Preston helped me last week to get the process started with planting an assortment of vegetable seeds. The weather was even nice enough to do it outside! With any luck, we will have at least one carrot and one head of lettuce by the end of the year.
