Easter

It should be noted that Preston got THREE Easter baskets this year; one from Grandma Agnes, one from the actual Easter Bunny, and one from Oompa and Gigi. He partook in THREE Easter egg hunts; the one at the park, one inside the house Easter morning, and another one outside Easter afternoon. It is safe to say I have destroyed his perception of dietary options, because, let's face it...once you know there is chocolate in this world, why would you ever want anything else? Or fruit-flavored tootsie rolls? Or skittles?
He might have eaten 2 pounds of candy on Easter day, but the good thing is his intake has significantly declined since then. He is lucky if he gets 2 pieces a day now, and he's surprisingly okay with that. I usually use one piece selectively during the day for bribery purposes, and he gets one "special treat" right before bedtime, which I think is his primary motivator to agree to bath time and pajamas. But hey, whatever works. I'm not sure internal motivators exist at age 3...or if they do, my parenting skills have not cultivated them.
Here is Preston "hunting" for Easter eggs in the backyard on Easter day with Oompa and me. And by "hunting," I mean standing in one spot and staring into space, waiting for eggs to magically appear in front of your face. The same effort is commonly put into finding missing toys.

And yes, since you ask...having the neighbor's dog barking at us the entire time added to the enjoyment!
