Also, "mum" is becoming code for just about everything. "I want that," or "I want more," or "Can I touch that?" or "Read this," or "Milk!" He tried grabbing the toilet brush last night while sitting on the potty, and when I told him no, its dirty, for the 1st time ever he tried mimicking what I was saying. The best he got was something like "durgh," but he was incredibly focused on watching my lips and trying to copy what I was doing with them. It was actually pretty awesome.
Later, he tried helping me with the laundry:

| This is what you get when a 1-year-old tries helping you fold laundry. |
Preston really isn't very fond of grass yet, so he mostly just teetered in this one area, and then sat down and insisted on being picked up. I chose not to do an Easter egg hunt this year as I figured he was a little too young to know what he was missing.* Plus, Easter Sunday, Matt had to work all day (and by all day I mean he was gone before the P-man and I even woke up, and didn't get home til 6ish). So basically I would have been the one to orchestrate it, and the only one to get any enjoyment out of it. And what do you stick in a 1-year-old's eggs anyway? Animal crackers?? So, there are no cute Easter egg hunt pictures to be had. Sorry.
*In hindsight, I wish I had done it. Preston, if you ever decide to read this when you're older, know that I felt like a shitty mom for not putting on an Easter egg hunt when you were 1 year old....
Tomorrow: haircut results.
