We finally had Preston's 3 year check-up a few weeks ago, and consistent with his growth from the start, he continues to be huge. He is officially 3'6" and 43 lbs. Copies of the growth charts are below, just for illustration of where he is on the bell curve. I wish they had these charts for hand and feet size, because it continues to shock me how big his are compared to other kids his age. I mean, like, shockingly bigger. I swear he is going to palm a basketball within the year.
The office visit was awesome in many ways. Preston had to follow a lengthy series of instructions for vision and hearing testing, and he was incredibly sweet and agreeable for the entire thing. Confirming that, in fact, he actually behaves very nicely, for everyone, except me. He also was very pleasant and compliant for his physical exam, and relieved at the end when his doctor was finished. Preston happily declared, "No shots!"...like he was an experienced patient and recalled all his previous visits dating back to birth...not sure where he comes up with some of this stuff. He did pass everything with flying colors and we don't have to go back for another year.
The experience did refresh Preston's interest in his Fisher Price doctor kit, and he's been taking my blood pressure a lot lately. The result is almost always the same, "48-7!" Although once last week it was "48-7 o'clock."
